ANP 230 - Anatomy and Physiology I Offered FL Lecture- 3 Lab- 2 4 credit hrs/5 contact hrs Rigorous, systematic study of human anatomy and physiology requiring memorization and mastery of anatomic vocabulary. The integumentary, skeletal, muscle, digestive, and nervous systems will be studied, and emphasis will be placed on the medical application of these subjects. Models and human cadavers, as well as microscopy of various human body tissues (histology), will be used in laboratories to enhance learning.
Student Learning Outcomes: Identify the regions of the body.
Use proper directional terms to effectively communicate information related to anatomy.
Explain the concept of homeostasis.
Identify the structures and functions of the integumentary system (skin) and digestive system.
Identify all the bones and major muscles of the human body.
Explain muscle structure and physiology.
Identify the structures of the central and peripheral nervous systems.
Contrast functions of the somatic and autonomic nervous systems.
Identify different tissues of the body using microscopy.
